How Negative Attitude be Minimized?

Human Resource Development and Management must focus also to the negative attitudes and beliefs of employees. Employees who have negative attitude must be minimized because they can create a long term culture of failure that can affect the operation of the company. Here are some ideas on how management can minimize negative attitudes

Model Optimistic Behavior

It is obvious that if management is practicing negative attitude most of the staff will follow also.  Never do this. Take a positive approach with staff by showing confidence in their abilities. Appreciate their good deeds and encourage your coworkers if they fail.    Expect a lot, support staff, hold them accountable, confront them and be clear and honest.  Set standards for your own work and relations with employees, and work towards meeting them to set an example of positive behavior.  If you are the boss show your workers that you are responsible manager so that they will also follow you.

Recognize Pessimism

Acknowledge the frustration negative feelings and do not try to convince the person or people that they shouldn’t have their negative feelings. You can't ignore negativity and expect it to go away.  If you do not acknowledge it, then staff will feel that you are out of touch, and will not  be confident in your abilities.

Identify the Positive in All Situations

Look the positive attitude of your employee. If they have ideas and suggestions appreciate and discuss about it. Sometimes we forget to find that their ideas are good. Look for small victories, and talk about them.  Turning a negative organization into a positive one is a result of thousands of little actions.

Give Often Positive Recognition

Provide positive recognition as soon as you find out about good performance.  Employees will be motivated and they will  do good things to your company.
