BMW is introducing a new version of the 6-series, the 2012 BMW 650i convertible which is powered by a 400 hp twin-turbo V8. At first glance, the 650i Convertible looks like the 2011 BMW 6-Series Coupe Concept. Yet, though both models share some similarities particularly in the overall structure and makeup, they differ in terms of their roof.
Starting with its redesigned chassis, the new 2012 BMW 650i convertible is 2.9 inches longer both overall and in wheelbase, 1.5 inches wider, and less than half-an-inch shorter in height. The front fenders, roof cover, and trunk lid are composite, while the doors, hood, and front shock towers all are constructed from aluminum.
