Toshiba, Hitachi and Panasonic shut down LCD

You insincerity have a 9.0 magnitude earthquake devoid of breaking a few factories, particularly ones that produce fragile liquid crystal screens, and this week Toshiba, Hitachi and Panasonic are each reporting damages that have stressed them to shut down  LCD production amenities affected by the tsunami and earthquake. Panasonic, Toshiba and Hitachi are all reporting that their LCD production facilities have been damaged, which has forced them to close. Panasonic tells Bloomberg that “there has been some damage, though not a fire or collapse” and they hope to start production again soon.

Hitachi and Toshiba are both reporting that their assembly lines will be down for around a month because of the damages. None of the three are responsible for the major part of LCD panel production today but the recent event might cause LCD panel shortages in the short run.
